Industry: Retail

Revenue: $3.5B

Country: United States

The Scenario

A global retailer operating in 42 countries required a reduction in force of 1,300 spanning multiple countries. Known for their commitment to privacy, the retailer required complete confidentiality in all phases of the Reduction project. Right Management enjoys a well-established relationship as a trusted advisor, having supported several other strategic RIFs over the years.

The Solution

Right Management provided a dedicated account team throughout all stages of the RIF, which helped ensure seamless delivery in all impacted client locations across the globe, from point-of-notification through employee engagement of services.  This cohesive team ensured rapid responses and flexibility to meet both client needs and timelines.

The Right Management team created a recurring project team meeting cadence with the goal of clear and aligned communication among all stakeholders.   These included multiple planning meetings prior to the RIF and regular progress updates from the client.  Right Management provided best practice recommendations around effective employment separation messaging and timing, information sessions for impacted employees after notification and managing change with remaining employees and post-announcement.

The Outcome

  • The organization achieved high candidate satisfaction with an average satisfaction score of 98.6%
  • The client reported 100% satisfaction with the experience.
